Kapaeeng Foundation elected as the Co-Chair of the International Land Coalition

Recently, the ILC Council, the highest decision making body of the International Land Coalition (ILC), has elected its member organization Kapaeeng Foundation (KF) from Bangladesh as the Co-Chair of the Coalition. The Executive Director of KF Mr. Pallab Chakma will represent KF at the ILC Council for the period of 2025-2027. He also performed his duty as Council Member from Asia in the last Council of ILC from 2022-2024. According to the charter of ILC there are two Co-Chairs; one is represented by the host organization of ILC global secretariat, currently it is International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) based in Rome, Italy and another one is elected from the civil society organizations representing in the ILC Council. The Co-Chairs lead the 18-members ILC Council for the period of three years.

The ILC is a network of civil society, academia and other relevant stakeholders working on land rights in the regions and globally. ILC recognizes multi-stakeholder partnerships and platforms can play an important role to advance sustainable and equitable land tenure and governance by fostering collaboration and co-learning, as well as pooling the expertise and resources of different stakeholders. One of the core objectives of ILC is to advance people-centred land governance through its works.
